Yoga Alliance Accreditation
and what this means to you... .

See more about...

The Yoga Alliance
is the predominant yoga registration body in the US with over 4000 teachers and 400 schools currently registered. Now you have the opportunity to receive an international qualification that is recognised by yoga schools, as well as yoga teacher insurance companies overseas. We are very pleased to be aligned with Yoga Alliance and have our Teacher Training courses recognised by them. This recognition also passes down to you in the form of skilled, professional yoga teachers, as the Yoga Alliance requires a high International standard of course material, presentation and continuing education from its Registered Yoga Teaching Institutes. Yoga Alliance has 2 levels of certification: a 200 hour certificate and a 300 hour certificate to make a total of 500 hours.

Our Teacher Training courses
have a Yoga Alliance accreditation

Although we encourage Yoga Alliance certification for your own benefit, this is optional. Each one of our courses is comprehensive and complete within itself to the level at which it is presented. Your Level 1, 2, 3 or Natal Ashram Yoga Certificate is our confirmation of your ability to teach to that level. There is an annual fee to Yoga Alliance plus ongoing learning required to maintain this registration. To visit Yoga Alliance website click here.

200 hour certification
This is available upon fulfilling Teacher Training Level 1 plus 52.5 additional learning hours.
This extra learning can be done either during or after the Level 1 course, thereby enabling you to apply for registration as a Yoga Alliance Teacher via Ashram Yoga. We provide forms and certificates for you to keep track of your extra learning. We also have discounts for our teachers on these courses. Ways to attain these extra hours are as follows:

500 hour certification
This certification recognises a higher level of training and experience in a yoga teacher and is available after completion of the 200hr certification and upon fulfilling:

Continuing Education:
This applies to both the 200 and 500 hour Yoga Alliance certification with the intention of keeping your skills and knowledge growing and expanding. It also deepens your own experience of yourself and yoga, which then flows onto your students. Within the Yoga Alliance standards a minimum of 45 teaching hours and 30 hours of continued learning each 3 years is required.

You can do this by attending regular classes, workshops, retreats, satsanga, study groups, etc. Workshops can be repeated. All these are part of continued education. Another great option is to invite Shantimurti and Ashram Yoga teachers to run workshops in your area. We are more than happy to travel anywhere in New Zealand to conduct yoga seminars, etc., for you, your students and/or friends.
