Children's Reiki Class
2 & 3 June 2010
Designed for 5 – 12 year olds to have a playful learning time with the energy of reiki.

Sharman Okan, (Swami Shishyananda Saraswati), in conjunction with Ashram Yoga, is conducting a children’s reiki class in Auckland. Reiki is the universal life energy of love and healing. During the 2 day class, children are tuned into the reiki frequency via 4 Fine Tunings and will learn how to use the reiki energy for healing, happiness, clarity, improvement in school and whatever else they can think of! It means two days away from school but will be very worth while.

Reiki is a healing energy of wholeness which comes equally through both hands when placed on the body of oneself, or someone else. It is not affiliated with any religion. When a person is is initiated into reiki they have the energy in their hands for the rest of their life.

Sharman was apprenticed to, and initiated into reiki, by the late reiki Grandmaster, Denise Crundall of Australia, in 1989, and into reiki mastery in 2002, and has since been conducting classes for children and adults. Denise only initiated four of her many students into the Master frequency of reiki before she died.

Journey to the Inner Sound (Nada Yoga)
4 (eve) - 7 June (Queens b/day weekend)
Annual 3-day Yoga Retreat at Mana
Retreat, Coromandel

Lead by Swami Shantimurti Saraswati with special guest Sharman Okan

Nada comes from Sanskrit. The root NAD = “to flow” refers to a stream or flow of consciousness. Nadam is the flow of the inner current. The mind becomes easily absorbed by sound, moving from the external sounds, to the deeper realm. Discovering the subtle, inaudible sounds.

Over this weekend we are using Pranayama (breathing) practices to lead us into meditating on a variety of sounds that have the potential to introduce us to THE inner sound. Nada Yoga is a process of disillusion. You don’t always have to confront your traumas, you can disolve them with sound.

Special guest: Sharman Okan has been chanting for over 30 years, Sharman intimately understands the resonance of the chant and through this creates and empowers transformation, expansion of consciousness and ecstasy.

The weekend also includes postures, yoga nidra, kirtan (chanting), entertainment, personal time and life-giving vegetarian food. All welcome - no previous experience necessary

"The deer is trapped by sweet sound. The cobra is enchanted by sweet music.
Nada entraps the mind. The mind dissolves in sweet Nada,
therefore you can easily control the mind through Nada Yoga.”

- Swami Sivananda
