Intensive 1: 200hr
The course covers a full spectrum of practices from absolute Beginners to Intermediate level:
- Asana's: yoga postures - moving, holding and corrective for the various bodily systems, e.g. digestive, hormonal, reproductive, etc.
- Pranayama: yogic breathing techniques to both energise and balance.
- Mudra: gestures
- Mantra: sound patterns
- Systematic Yogic Relaxation
- Meditation: a systematic approach to release stress and increase the awareness
- Shatkarmas: to purify and cleanse the body
- Anatomy and Physiology: structure and function of the main physical body systems, and the energy systems of the subtle body.
- Application of yoga to body, energy, mind and emotions
- Elementary therapeutic yoga for pregnancy, back problems, migraines, breathing needs, etc.
- Postural and Adjustment techniques
- Teaching Methodology
- Introduction to Ayurveda (sister healing science to yoga)
- Introduction to the Yoga Philosophy

On completion of this course you are able to:
- Formulate group and individual classes for differing levels of ability and needs including utilising asana's, pranayama, relaxation and simple meditation techniques.
- Apply beginners to intermediate yoga practices for overall health, wellness and therapeutic benefits
- Understand how to apply the practices for optimum effect, for your own practice and in yoga classes.
- Understand the physiological and psychological effects of practicing yoga: how it affects our body, energy, brain and mind.

Intensive 2: 500hr
Stage1:
Intermediate to Progressive Intermediate
You learn to practice and teach a broadened and more advanced level of asana, pranayama, bandha, mudra, meditation, yoga nidra and shatkarmas, as well as deeper philosophical studies.
Knowledge includes:
- Dhara Yogasana (flowing yoga)
- How to use and apply Ayurveda within yoga
- Yoga Philosophy
- The four main branches of yoga (Karma - activity, Bhakti - devotion, Raja - meditation, Jnana - knowledge)
- Specific studies on the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, an ancient treatise on the spiritual journey and the psychology of mind.
- Principles and application of tantra and yoga (including prana, gunas, tattwas, nadis, chakras and koshas)
- Systematic application of deeper meditation techniques.
We emphasize how to present these practices and understandings for full effect and at different levels according to the needs and capabilities of your students.
Stage 2: Advanced & Yoga Therapy
This stage moves even further into the deeper aspects of yogic understanding and technique in a profound manner which greatly expands the teaching, knowledge and capabilities of the participants. All techniques are presented at a more advanced level for body, energy and mind. The practices have been systematized for ease of teaching in a progressive way, knowing how to introduce them to students and then deepening the practice as your students experience and abilities increase.
Knowledge gained includes:
- Asana's and pranayama's
- Extended dhara yoga asana's (flowing postures)
- How to “assess” your students physically
- Teaching for special needs
- Elementary asana therapy for the muscular/skeletal system
- Asana's for therapeutic application
- Using chakras, their khestrams (trigger points for chakras) and sounds in yoga nidra (psychic sleep), and also with asana's
- The use and practice of mudras in yoga teaching
- The deeper yoga symbols of the psyche and how to use these in yoga nidra
- In-depth meditation series
- Dharana Akasha – study of the main inner spaces of the subtle body
- Nada Yoga (yoga of sound) in a teaching situation
- Sankhya system of manifestation
- Mantra and Sanskrit chants
- Kundalini Yoga practices
- Havan – fire purification ceremony
