The Spirit of Stillness
Yin Yoga and Yoga Nidra Workshop
Out of all the seasons, Winter gets a bad rap. Many of us find it easier to celebrate the promise of Spring, the expansion of Summer and the colourful transition of Autumn. But there are no mistakes when it comes to nature and our challenge is to look beneath the surface to see the gift that every season holds.
Being Yin in nature, Winter is inactive, cold, dark and damp. It’s a perfect time to reflect, rest and to conserve and consolidate our energy as we prepare for the re-birth that comes in Spring. The deep stillness of Winter also calls us to reconnect with our own depths, to befriend the darkness in and around us, just as a dormant seed would acquaint itself with the depth and darkness of the Earth in which it is planted.
During this workshop we will re-balance the corresponding element of Water, which rules over the Kidneys, Bladder and Adrenal glands. In doing so we will support and nourish the vital storehouse of energy that will sustain us and our endeavours though all of the other months.
This workshop includes:
Basic Acupressure: To open and stimulate the Kidney and Bladder Meridians
Yin Yoga: A relaxing practice involving supported, long held stretches, targeting the Kidney and Bladder meridians.
Yoga Nidra: A 40 minute guided relaxation offers deep restoration
