Prana and Pranayama Masterclass
between the 6th and 16th centuries A.D. that we find a detailed description of the practices.
Swami Shantimurti Saraswati - founder of Ashram Yoga, pictured - is presenting a 3-hour masterclass on pranayama where we are investigating the four aspects or levels of pranayama, the pranic (energy) body and all the parts that make up this body, i.e. chakras, nadis and vayus. Pranayama is scientifically based, and also in the past was given great credit by the rishis and the yogis as a means to awakening higher consciousness. This is done by consciously awakening the function of the chakras, creating an awareness of the main nadis and introducing us into the knowledge of the vayus or the five parts of the pranic body.
Shantimurti has been studying and practising pranayama for 40 years and over those years has taught many people the art of pranayama and how to apply the different pranayama techniques to various psychological and physiological conditions. We now know that through the breath and pranayama we can have an influence and positive effect on virtually every aspect of the human being.
