Guru Poornima Celebration
Walk the Spiritual Path Workshop
Traditionally, the day of Guru Poornima is marked to pay respect and show gratitude towards our teachers. Be it our academic teachers, spiritual guides, parents or role models. It is one of the most auspicious days in the Yogic Calendar. During the full moon every July millions of people across the globe celebrate this event and re-dedicate themselves to their spiritual path. This year, Guru Poornima falls on Sunday 9 July at 4:07pm.
We invite all of you to join us for the celebration and the re-dedication ceremony on Sunday 9th July at our Ohui Retreat. We recognise all the great spiritual traditions, masters and teachers. Feel free to bring a picture or statue of your guru or inspiration to place on the altar.
Swami Sivananda Saraswati observing a student by the Ganges in Rishikesh in the 1940s. His teaching is summarised by the words, “Serve, Love, Give, Purify, Meditate, Realise.”
The celebration is by dana (donation given from the heart). We are also offering Sannyas Diksha (initiation) on this day for sincere aspirants of yoga and yogic lifestyle. Please contact us if you would like to know more about Sannyasa Diksha.
On Saturday 8th July, we have a very rare and fortunate opportunity to receive guidance and classes from both of our senior teachers who have walked the yogic path for over four decades, Swami Shantimurti Saraswati and Sharman Okan. This one-day program consists of traditional yoga classes, discussions, Yoga Nidra guided relaxation, mantra and kirtan. Discussions are to create inquiry and find direction in walking our spiritual path, living a yogic lifestyle and Sannyas Diksha.
All welcome! You are welcome to stay a few extra days before or after the ceremony.
